Planetary challenges demand new forms of leadership within health systems, yet there are few interdisciplinary spaces that center nursing-led planetary health leadership.
This initiation grant will support the launch of an annual, in-person Planetary Health Leadership conference hosted by the Yale School of Nursing’s (YSN) Office of Planetary Health and Global Engagement. This conference will be open to the public and will bring together interdisciplinary faculty, students, clinicians, and YSN’s global partners to advance systems thinking, equity, and team-based exchange, catalyzing collaboration and sustained planetary health engagement.
The inaugural conference will also be part of the Planetary Health Leadership Program at YSN, an eight-week online certificate program launching in October 2026 and will integrate leadership-building opportunities for the participants of the program as well as conference attendees.
