“The genetic legacy of archaic hominin admixture”

Modern humans mated with archaic hominin contemporaries, such as Neanderthals and Denisovans. As a result, Neanderthal and Denisovan introgressed sequences survive, scattered, in the genomes of present-day human populations. In my talk I will present my research on the genomic legacy that archaic hominin admixture left in modern human populations and provide an overview of the research program of the newly established Human Evolutionary Genomics Lab in the Yale Department of Anthropology.
