“The Effects of Fracking on Drinking-Water Quality within the Appalachian Basin”

Hydraulic fracturing (“fracking”) has spurred the production of oil and natural gas, yet concerns about its role in polluting drinking water persist.  Saiers will present new data on the quality of residential drinking water in areas that host fracking and describe findings from an assessment of domestic-well vulnerability to contamination from fracking and its attendant activities.
