Last week, YPS welcomed two new team members. We are very excited to have Alex Reich serving as Director of Research and Impact, and Ashley Baker serving as Program Manager for Engagement and Implementation.
In his new role, Alex will build and manage relationships with faculty and staff across Yale, as well as with partners and stakeholders outside of the university to promote, accelerate, and coordinate the translation of planetary solutions-related knowledge from inquiry to positive impact both on and off campus. He will facilitate interdisciplinary collaborations, supporting synergistic opportunities for knowledge generation, advancement, and implementation across the wide range of topics relevant to planetary solutions. Alex joins YPS from the National Academies, wehere he worked as the Climate Crossroads Program Officer, leading efforts to implement climate solutions programs and studies.
In her new role, Ashley (Ash) will provide planning and support for all YPS events, coordinate internal communications, and oversee website management. She will also play a critical project management role for the YPS Team, coordinating collaborations, managing relationships with key partners and stakeholders, and ensuring operational excellence. Ash brings a decade of experience working at the intersection of science, sustainability, and community. She is coming to YPS from the American Chemical Society’s Green Chemistry Institute, where she was the Scientific Content and Community Manager.
Please extend a warm welcome to Alex and Ash as they help expand YPS’s capacity to engage the entire Yale community (and beyond) around planetary solutions!
