Yale Divinity School – Living Village Breaking Ground Ceremony
Join us on Wednesday, October 11 as the Yale Divinity School will celebrate the ground breaking of the new Living Village residential complex. The event will include:
2:30 p.m.: Panel Discussion of the Living Village and Regenerative Buildings
Titled Built Structures and the Environmental Crisis: Building in Harmony With the Natural World, this event will take place at YDS’ Niebuhr Hall. Speakers will include:
- Deborah Berke, Dean, Yale School of Architecture
- Lindsay Baker, CEO, International Living Future Institute
- Julie Beth Zimmerman, Vice Provost, Yale Planetary Solutions
- Jason J. Jewhurst, Partner and Principal, Bruner/Cott Architects
- Greg Sterling, Dean of Yale Divinity School (moderator)
4:30 p.m.: Groundbreaking Ceremony
This event will take place at the Living Village construction site. Yale University President Peter Salovey will give remarks, as well as lead donors George and Carol Bauer.
5 p.m. Program and Reception
This event will take place at YDS’ Old Refectory. Yale Provost Scott Strobel and New Haven Mayor Justin Elicker will give remarks.
