YPS Strategic Vision 2050

YPS Strategic Vision 2050

YPS is beginning a timely and critical effort to create a strategic vision to guide our work. To drive action on climate and sustainability challenges, we must understand what positive impacts we are striving for, both within our own institution and around the world. To achieve a future we all want to live in, we must first be able to imagine and describe it.

Creating a strategic vision “provides guidance and inspiration by depicting where an organization aims to be in the future” [1]. We are calling on you, our community, to inform this effort to define our vision for 2050.

To be effective, we need the perspectives and insights of those of you on campus, in our New Haven community, throughout our shared region, and with affinity for Yale around the world.

Yale Planetary Solutions (YPS) seeks to drive planetary solutions through all that Yale is, from our students, faculty, staff, and alumni, to our buildings, collections, and campus, and all that Yale does—teaching, learning, researching, building, operating, convening, investing, and leading.

We focus our work through three lenses detailed in our Steering Committee Report:

  • Climate Change: Mitigating and Adapting
  • Biodiversity and Ecosystems: Conserving and Restoring
  • Communities and Society: Thriving and Prospering

We welcome your thoughts and contributions to help us build this strategic vision. Please submit comments and ideas through our form below.
