Eligibility & Evaluation Criteria

Prepare to Apply

Proposals for Planetary Solutions Student Funding are solicited in three cycles each academic year. YPS expects to award up to eight grants per year, each up to $500. The next application period will open in August 2026.

Applicants should prepare:

  • A budget clearly explaining what the expenses are for, why they are necessary, and any other secured or pending sources of funding
  • An explanation of how the initiative relates to the YPS mission and our three main lenses. Read about the lenses in our 2024 Steering Committee Report.
  • An overview of the initiative’s potential positive impact
  • A summary of how the project supports student leadership

Award Cycles for the 2026-27 Academic Year

Applications Due: September 14, 2026  

Awards Announced: October 2, 2026      

Applications Due: December 11, 2026 

Awards Announced: January 8, 2027
