Restoring degraded land in the global tropics is a massive challenge, not least because many of these lands are under intense cultivation on small farms. Since 2006, Yale’s Environmental Leadership & Training Initiative (ELTI) has conducted multi-disciplinary training workshops in the Neotropics and in Southeast Asia in the skills needed to undertake such restoration.
